Connecting You To The Marine Environment

High Quality Marine Education For Your Students

Who We Are

Neridia is all about fun and engaging marine education. We believe that working with everyone, especially landlocked communities, is key to a thriving ocean environment. Even if the ocean isn’t on your doorstep, it remains vital to our everyday lives.

We offer high quality educational lessons and workshops to all ages, centred around the marine world. Whilst we focus primarily on STEM fields, the ocean encompasses all aspects of life. As such, we offer marine themed lessons across the humanities and arts.

Designed and taught by working marine scientists, our lesson content is expertly informed and delivered with real passion. We also offer educational support more remotely for teachers looking to expand their tool kit, be it downloadable content or consulting calls.

Our People

Rob - Founder

Rob built Neridia with the aim of showing young people how fascinating and beautiful the marine environment really is. After moving to Yorkshire from East Anglia, Rob saw just how disconnected he felt from the marine world, and realised that many children who grow up in landlocked areas just don’t have the opportunities that he had growing up to learn about these things.

Rob has a lively and enthusiastic approach to teaching, and builds many practical elements into his lessons. He is currently pursuing his level 2 qualifications in safeguarding and managing classrooms.

Rob is a working marine scientist and studied marine biology and oceanography in Plymouth. Rob has a specialisation in marine plankton and spends most of his time in a lab. He has worked at sea and around the world and has worked in fisheries, blue carbon and climate change, marine food safety, marine plastics and coastal water quality. He has published works in saltmarsh carbon sequestration and harmful marine algae. Rob brings all of this expertise to his lessons in an accessible manner.
